About Anjuna Beach
Anjuna Beach is one of the most popular and iconic beaches in North Goa, renowned for its unique rocky outcrops, golden sands, and swaying palm trees. Originally discovered by the hippies in the 1960s, it still retains a bohemian vibe. Today, it is famous for its legendary Wednesday flea market where travelers can buy everything from jewelry to Tibetan artifacts, as well as its electrifying trance parties that go on until dawn.
History
Anjuna's history is deeply intertwined with the Hippie trail of the 1960s and 70s. Western backpackers and flower children made this beach their home, introducing the world to Goa trance music. The famous Anjuna Flea Market was started by 'Eight Finger Eddie' as a way for foreigners to barter goods and fund their travels.
